Playing Card Printing & Finishing

One of the things we love about being a local printer is seeing the amazing artwork created by some of the incredibly talented artists in Hull. We recently got asked to produce a deck of cards showcasing some of the work from local artists and we were delighted to take on the challenge!

Printing decks of cards has involved many steps for us, starting with the printing itself. Cards were panelled on to large sheets before being gloss laminated (this is what keeps the cards easy to shuffle!). After they’re laminated, the cards were digitally die cut from the panelled sheets and split into packs of 52. Next we had the boxes to create, so we return to the print and laminate stage for the flat net of the boxes. They then had to be creased along the fold lines and again digitally die cut from larger panel sheets. After gluing the boxes in pace and packaging all the cards, the order’s complete and ready to ship!

Many thanks to Hull 52 for placing their order with us, we enjoyed producing this one and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have an unusual print request for Team Scribes!
